וַיַּעֲזֹ֕ב אֶת־יְהוָ֖ה אֱלֹהֵ֣י אֲבֹתָ֑יו וְלֹ֥א הָלַ֖ךְ בְּדֶ֥רֶךְ יְהוָֽה׃
Und er verließ den HERRN, den Gott seiner Väter, und wandelte nicht auf dem Weg des HERRN.
Ralbag on II Kings
And he forsook the Lord, the God of his fathers, and walked not in the way of the Lord: This means that he had already altogether separated from the way of the Lord.
